- Sumatra Mandheling is an exotic, full bodied coffee that is earthy with an herbal aroma and vibrant acidity. Because beans from Sumatra vary in size, this coffee is very delicate and requires careful monitoring to bring out its rich, earthy flavor to your morning cup. This coffee has a bitter and sweet flavor, a smooth and thick body, a medium acidity, and an earthy, lingering aftertaste.
- The island of Sumatra in Indonesia has been known for its coffee since 1696 when the Dutch introduced coffee plant cutting to the rich, fertile land. Arabica coffees of Sumatra are the only cultivated at the higher elevations.
